"Allow me to ask you, then, how can man govern, if he is not only deprived of the opportunity of making a plan for at least some ridiculously short period — well, say, a thousand years - but cannot even vouch for his own tomorrow?"

What a great background story! It all makes sense now. Acheron has 3 QE songs on it and now we get this. Foreshadowing of another remix perhaps? Hope so!

Wait! Are you The Man Next Door's best friend?

No - that was a man named Fletcher. Not my best friend Fletcher, however, but TMND’s best friend. It’s a labyrinth once you get into it…

Well I hope your next book will make the path thru all that clear. Really enjoyed the first one.

One of my favorite songs from a criminally underrated album. I remember Robyn playing this at the Great American Music Hall in SF in the early 90’s. It was one of those songs I didn’t think would find its way onto the setlist and nearly lost my sh*t when he began playing those familiar loping chords. My girlfriend at the time used to get annoyed with me singing that song around the house, in the car, etc. She turned to me and gave me a look of indulging bemusement as Robyn launched into the lyrics. In the next few weeks I found her humming and singing the melody herself. I haven’t spoken with her in decades, but of all the sins for which I’ll probably never be forgiven, planting “The Devil’s Coachman “ in her brain may rank as my worst offense. Thanks, Robyn.
